Inverness from home






 The pictures above are from my walks with Tara...the views are amazing:)

The last two pictures are from our livingroom window:) I am guessing the large trees will hide some of the view, but not all of it:) It is very hilly as we are living up a mountain side, but that is going to be very good for my health...not fun at the moment as I am very unfit and my back is hurting from shifting so many boxes...

Loving it so far, but haven't seen much as there is no money to go into town and enjoy even a cappuchino at the mo, and no space to put anything if I did buy anything...I've got time to explore so am not worried:)

    What a fab view. Glad it all went smoothly, and now you can settle for a bit eh? Not sure about the steps though - are they up to your house? Think I'd need to stop half way for a rest and I haven't the excuse of shifting boxes!

    The steps are from the bottom of the garden to the top of the garden, with three levels of "terrace". Actually the bottom level is just the path going from the bottom step to the next set of steps, and the next level is a patio area outside the "summerhouse", and then there are a few more steps up to the main terraced area almost level with the back of the house. As the house is built on a mountainside, the garden is VERY steep...if you look down from the back fence there is a steep drop down to a dirt road that goes along the edge of the forest. The grass is flat for about a quarter of the garden, then level with the bottom of the steps and up to the level of the main terrace, the lawn goes up very steeply so I have no idea how I am supposed to cut the lawn...lol

    I was lucky when unloading the van that it was downhill from the van to the garage where we put the boxes to avoid filling the house and making unpacking complicated. Then I have taken a few boxes at a time into the house and unpacking them before getting more, so it has not been too bad...I have some boxes left, plus some suitcases, but the suitcases are full of my craft books and magazines, so they will either stay in the garden or be moved to the "summerhouse" until our remaining belonging gets here end of the month...can't wait to get our stuff and get the house the way we want it...although I am not sure I will be able to use the summerhouse for my craftroom as there is no heating...I think there is lighting, but no heating...don't know if my fabrics and books and things would be damaged if they were out and it was cold and/or humid...will need to get some advice on that one...

    glad you got there and are getting settled in - lovely views!. I don't think i would be too keen on leaving craft stuff out in the summerhouse without heating - too much a risk of mould forming - but how nice will that be in the summer though, to actaully work out there..

    Well...we have now heard that there are mice around...they have been in the loft (but have been removed) and in the garage. So far the previous tenant is quite sure there have been no mice in the summer house, but I am not determined to keep my things in the house, and have a nice table out there for working. There are plugs there so I know I have power for my sewing machine and lighting:) We will have to wiggle furniture around though. The previous tenant did say that if we did not want the two sofas or anything else, we can just contact the owner and she can have things removed, so that is good...we may have one sofa removed...even though they are very comfy:)

Refreshing my blog (long time coming)...

Hi, I haven't posted here for a very long time. Towards the end of the last period of blogging I completely lost track of my craftiness and there was just too much going on in life. Now I am finally feeling like myself again, I have started a web shop on Etsy and have started selling my jewellery from a shop in town. New Year, New Home, New Outlook!

Ok, so I have been very bad with writing on my blog...I am slightly ashamed... I do however have a reason for it...This last year went pear shaped, and I lost myself a bit. Firstly in March, my husband failed his final exam for the first time, causing a lot of stress and worry. Secondly, we lost our gorgeous baby girl Tara, our almost 12 year old GSD...she was in too much pain in her back and back legs, she was dragging her back feet as she had no strength to lift them to walk properly on her pads. This caused her to wear down her claws so much that she was bleeding on one occasion. After this occasion we made sure to walk her only on the side of the road so she could drag her feet on grass instead of asphalt. At the end of April 2014, we sent her across the Rainbow Bridge, to join her friend Darwin whom we lost in December 2012. Slimming World update!

I AM SOOOOOOO HAPPY!!! I lost 6 1/2 pounds, which means I have reached my 1st stone milestone:) I am so surprised but happy...I have gained 1/2pound three weeks in a row because my period was 3weeks late. Now my period has come and gone, and it just shows how much my body is affected by the f***king period...  (and those stars are hiding REA and nothing else...lol) So, tonight it is Nando's dinner...chicken, coleslaw and ratatouille (or perhaps some lovely chips) to celebrate weightloss as well as payday...I do normally let myself enjoy a nice treat of some sorts after my weigh in...that way it is easier to stay on track the rest of the time...:) I am getting on with my Siamese cats, and am about halfway through with the white, and once that is done I am finished and can make them into a cushion cover:)
