Picture heavy with cat update

So, I went to town on Wednesday to get the tyre changed on the car, and to buy some fabric for my sister, but I ended up only buying things for myself as I was not sure what she wanted/needed. Instead, I took pictures of the shelves of fabric so she can tell me what she wants, and then I can go back and get the right fabric. I got three books from a charityshop, I got a large piece of fabric and a quilting hoop for my sewing machine (hoping it is right for it) as I am going next Saturday to my local embroidery group to learn machine embroidery. And then I have a picture of a little box I made (well, I made the topping of the lid) and finally an update on my Siamese cats...

Slimming World update!

I AM SOOOOOOO HAPPY!!! I lost 6 1/2 pounds, which means I have reached my 1st stone milestone:) I am so surprised but happy...I have gained 1/2pound three weeks in a row because my period was 3weeks late. Now my period has come and gone, and it just shows how much my body is affected by the f***king period...  (and those stars are hiding REA and nothing else...lol) So, tonight it is Nando's dinner...chicken, coleslaw and ratatouille (or perhaps some lovely chips) to celebrate weightloss as well as payday...I do normally let myself enjoy a nice treat of some sorts after my weigh in...that way it is easier to stay on track the rest of the time...:) I am getting on with my Siamese cats, and am about halfway through with the white, and once that is done I am finished and can make them into a cushion cover:)

Scotland 2011

I AM MOVING TO SCOTLAND!!! End of July we will be relocating to the Orkney islands north of Scotland...AND I CANNOT WAIT!!! I was saying to hubby...the fishing rods will be standing on the porch waiting for a Sunday morning walking down to the water and fishing for dinner:) He almost had a tear in his eyes...we have not been able to go fishing since we moved from Plymouth due to not knowing really where to go, and not really having much time due to his work and studies... On another note...I am really pleased with March...it is standing up right in front of me on a bureau waiting for me to get back to it...but I am determined to do a bit more on the cats first...have done a bit last night, and due to a little accident I am now sitting with my left foot up by necessity and have done a little bit more...will check if I can speak to mum and dad on Skype first, and then I'll get back to them again...got a real cat next to me on one part of the pattern... So...back to stitching it i...

Update on Hardanger Calendar Partwork 230411

So, yesterday I did quite a lot on March, and today I have done some more, so I am showing two pictures:) Now I am going to take a short break from the partwork and do some sewing...mainly mending clothes, but perhaps something fun as well...I promised myself I was gonna spend the weekend working on my Siamese cats...so I am gonna take them out tonight and work on, but for today I will be potting about in my room...perhaps I will have some pictures to show tonight or tomorrow:)

Update on hardanger calendar partwork

Pictures will be added as soon as I get home...I am writing some of this at work as I have a little bit of downtime... I finished February last night around 11.30pm and needed to hit the sack, so only forwarded a pic to Vicki so she can see...she says it looks fabulous:) Now I am on unchartered territory as I have not done anything further, but she promised me March is easy... I am really enjoying getting back to my partwork...but I am feeling a bit bad about neglecting my Siamese cats...I think I will work on them this weekend as all I've got left is the white on the bodies...then I can finish it off as a pillow I think...not sure yet...but I think it would be sooooo pretty as a pillow...would probably hide it somewhere until we've moved to our forever home...don't want to ruin it in a tiny house where I cannot put things on display a bit better... gotta go now...will continue when I get home... Now, January is supposed to have beads and not picots in the cutwork...

Update on Hardanger Calendar Partwork 170411

So, I think I am doing quite well on my hardanger partwork:) Just have a look:) I only have a few stitches to do and then I am done with February, and then I have to go into new territory with March...:)

Update on Hardanger Calendar Partwork 140411

So, I have not got the latest pic of January as I did not think about taking a pic before rolling it up so I could get on with February...so I am giving you what I have of January as well as my latest update on February...going well so far:) But then I have done February before... I am quite pleased that I have started working on it again:) A bit thanks to Vicki who has helped me by letting me model stitch so I have learned and got more confident on hardanger:) More to come soon I believe:)

ok, so my plans did not really work...

...as I was planning to do a chicken in a sauce and serve with roast butternut squash, peppers and onions...I have ended up doing the roast veg the way I planned them, but I have made a chicken curry...how is that supposed to work...well, I guess my hubby will have to say what he thinks after eating it... Other than that I have cut the lawn in the back garden, I have done a little work in the house...the rest will be for tomorrow...including cutting the front lawn and pruning the bushes by the living room window. Inside the house I have to do the regular cleaning, but also try to pack away a few things that we won't need before the move (YES I know it is still 4months away) and decide what we can get rid of...some things for Ebay and the rest for charity shops...I prefer starting early...last time we moved I was working more than fulltime, trying to pack, taking care of the house sale, finishing off at work (leaving after 4years was NOT easy or fun), taking care of the cats and t...

working...so to speak...

Ok, so I agreed to do some extra hours at a different department from last week until possibly June. I am supposed to be dealing with sending out  appointment letters and requesting appointments. Now, it is 12.41 and I have NOTHING to do, but they are expecting me to chaperone whilst I am in the office, so instead of going home as I have nothing to do, I am gonna have to sit here until 2.30 chaperoning...which is SOOOO not my job... I need to find a way to sort this out...I don't mind too much sitting here getting paid for doing nothing, but my heart says I should be at home doing something useful like walking the dog and doing housework or exercise or something...SIGH... To be continued...

Reorganising my room

So, I have for a long time (since the move December 2009) been trying to organise my craft room...I tried to put things according to what craft they are...such as cardmaking in one place, embriodery in one and sewing in another...but in the end I just shoved things into drawers and cupboards just to be able to move around...bit by bit I've gone in and organised in stages...but it has never really made sense in my head where things are. So, today I just had this idea in my head to move a chest of drawers from the left of my desk to the right...leaving my cardmaking stuff in those drawers as well as on top of the drawers...so, I moved everything from the top of them, shifted them round and dusted a bit (really needed) and have then organised the bits and bobs that were in the most disarray...and here is the result so far... Now, I think it looks quite tidy...the white bag underneath the desk is full of cables and "nightlights" that we do not need or use, and I am planning...

OT - life

Hi all...so not really any embroidery update apart from having got back to work on the hardanger calendar partwork...did not start very well as I had a visit from Mr Frog, and he had me busy...I had to frog all the weaving...I missed the picots first time round, and am now halfway through redoing them WITH the picots... I am sitting here watching Americas Next Top Model simply because I have no energy to do anything else... I need to do a little bit of Wii, take a shower, do a quick shopping and then go pick my hubby up from work... my day started 6am with getting up, getting dressed, making sure hubby had his lunch and dinner (as he is finishing 8.30pm he'll have his dinner at work) packed to take with him (he normally forgets), then give him a ride to the train station...get home, give Tara a 30minute walk as I was doing extra hours today...get changed, go to work (UGI) from 8-12, have my lunch, then go over to Vascular and do a few hours there before I could go home at 3pm...g...
