Getting back on track

Now, I need a good kick up the backside I think...I have been way too lazy this last week since I finished my friend's design...I'll post a pic as soon as I am allowed to... Right now I have A LOT of stuff in front of me, and am gonna get stitching on some Christmas things...will post pix as soon as I get somewhere... Wish me luck:)

non crafty update

Ok, so I know I am supposed to be talking about crafts in this blog...but it is my blog after all, so here comes some non-crafty news...they are good though...lovely for me:) I AM GETTING A NEW LAPTOP!!! Hubby needs a new mobile, and he wanted a Blackberry...so, we have been scowering the internet for a good deal for a Blackberry with a free laptop...so he gets the mobile and I get the laptop:) YEY!!! Now, it is not like I am spoilt in getting new computers frequently...my laptop that I am typing on is almost 6years old. It is a Dell Inspiron 6000. I have LOVED this laptop up until about 6months ago when it started going downhill. I have upgraded the RAM from 512MB to 2GB which helped a bit. I have upgraded the harddrive from 35GB to 160GB which helped a bit. Unfortunately the processor and motherboard are still 6years old, and cannot handle the pressure...so the computer gets very very overheated which means I can only use it for a short period before it needs rest...which is very...

Just another day in the life of me...

So, I am not working...I still got up at 6.50am, got dressed and gave hubby a ride to the train station so he could go to work, got back home, had breakfast whilst watching The Walking Dead I recorded last night, Animal Cops Phoenix I also recorded last night, then had a quick nap before taking my dear dog Tara out for her morning walk. Got home, had a cuppa tea whilst watching Animal Cops Houston before packing my bag, taking a shower, got ready to go to the HR Department in Chorley to fill in form upon form for my new job.I did find out that the CRB check will take 3-6weeks and I won't get a starting date until they've had that back, so I may not start working until the New Year. Drove back to Preston, went to Asda and bought some milk before going back home. Got changed (again) and took Tara out for her second walk. Now I am sitting here with a cuppa coffee and am watching Charmed. After that is done I have to go in the kitchen and do the dishes before figuring out what to...

Nothing much to report

Well...I am working on a design by IndiaGrace designs, and as it is still unpublished I cannot show any progress pictures, but I can tell you it is going to be gorgeous:) I am waiting for some threads to arrive before I can continue on, so in the meantime I am working on my Monopoly board. I have done the outlines of the squares on three sides, and am working on the last side at the moment. Once I've done those squares I will start filling in the boxes, and doing the text in the boxes...once I'm done with that I will do the center. I have not yet decided on what version to do...UK, US, Cornwall, Swedish...we'll see:) We've had a very windy night and morning, with tons of rain, but now it looks like it is clearing up...if it could only stay dry two days in a row, we could cut the grass before winter...have been waiting for that for over a month now...sigh...typical English weather...

Update on hardanger project

I have another finish...India Grace's hardanger calendar partwork February with variegated thread:)

Update 8/11/10

So, yesterday I sat doing a small sampler whilst my husband was up in my room (his is too small) playing guitar with a friend from work. I actually managed to finish the whole thing:) And, as I found my camera this morning I am able to post a pic...yey:) I am planning to make it into a pillowcase...:)   The design is from The Gift of Stitching, and I used variegated threads only which I am quite pleased about...and if anyone wants to know any of the threads just let me know and I'll post the names of the colours. Now I've got to go redo a little bit of the hardanger design I've done for a designer friend of mine, and once I'm done I will post the finished picture...I am very pleased with it:) Then I'm on to the next project:)

Update

Hi there, So I've managed to finish Inda Grace's February design with variegated thread (Caron Wildflowers Deep Sunset) and some matching beads I found in my stash. Picture will come once I've found the camera...lol Now, I need to measure up the fabric for my next India Grace project, and am also very eager to choose a sampler to work on...I really want to do a quaker inspired design...but the problem is choosing one...I will try to pick one from The Gift of Stitching as there are soo many ones in there, and especially one that is a mystery sampler...if I can get the printer working that is:) So that's it until I can find the camera...talk soon:)
