Fabric book cover

Ok, it is not perfect, but I am quite pleased with it. It is a present, and I am really pleased I managed to finish it. Ok, it may be a little crooked in places, but see what you think...? I even managed to make a pocket for a bookmark or pen or something...:) Let's hope the receiver will like it... Tomorrow I am going to try to make a card as well, but I finish work around 3 and have a dinner to celebrate her retirement at 7.30, so we'll see... Wish me luck:)

NEC 25th 2011

I had a great time at the NEC with Vicki...got a few gorgeous "threads"...the reason for the "" is that I've got chainelette, ribbon, cord and threads...three skeins of gorgeous blues and three skeins of gold to green to brown autumny colours. I shared a bundle of small fabric pieces with Vicki, so now I've got to figure out what to do with them:) I also got a small easy clip frame to try out...and I got some Promarker pens to use with my stamping bits and bobs...and last but NOT least I got a gorgeous canvas kit. I have been looking at these kits for some time, and finally decided on one. It is going from pale lilac to dark purple, as well as a bit of green and gold, and is done on a dark green canvas...what can I say, I LOVE green:) I also got some sewing patterns for my sister as well:) All in all a very nice time...and then I spent time with Vicki, learning a bit of Wii Mariokart and a bit of lacing in mid air:) Thank you Vicki for a wonderful ti...

Pictures update

So, here is a pic of my latest small, my almost finished bag, and some pix of my babies:)  This is my latest small project... I changed the colors and am quite pleased with it:) I am going to finish it into a small ornamental pillow...update to follow...  Tara chewing her latest football...she does LOVE them...if she sees one in a garden and I am not quick enough to stop her, she'll run in and steal it...yesterday when I took her out for her afternoon walk, there were three kids with four footballs in the "park" we walk past, and this morning she was looking for the footballs all over the "park...talk about memory...lol  Close up of my first attempt at crewel work:) Not too shabby in my view:)  This is the BACK of my new bag...unfortunately I realised a bit late that I put it together the wrong way...that flower was supposed to be on the "flap" of the bag...so people can actually see it...I am gonna have to do some more embroidery on the front...lol  ...

My cushion is finished - YEY!

Ok, so, my jeans cushion with sampler inset is finally finished...I've had it pending for ages...so, now that it is done, I am SOOOOOOO pleased:) Now, my next job is to finish the handbag I've had in a drawer for ages...I've done some crewel work on it, put the fabric together, but I got stuck when I could not decide on pockets or no pockets as well as lining or no lining...so now I am going to take it out, decide on what to do, and finish it off, as I want to use it when I go to the NEC on the 25th... Wish me luck:)

WIPS for 2011

So, I have sat on the floor in my craft room putting some kits together...I have sooo many charts I want to do, so I thought why not put some together so I can swap between them as I please. Most of them are quick stitches, so that helps...I also want to do some sewing and appliquet as that looks sooooooo much fun:) Anyway, here are pictures of the charts, fabric and threads I have put together: So, those are my smaller to medium WIPS for 2011...I do have three large WIPS, and they are Theresa Wentzler's Peacock Tapestry, India Grace's Hardanger Partwork Calendar and the Monopoly Board... In other words, I will be quite busy...lol Better get stitching...

Siamese Cats update 10/03

Update OT Slimming World

I am SOOO proud of myself! I have lost another 3 1/2 pounds!!! This means a total of 10 1/2pounds in 4 weeks!!! Yey for me:) I need to get myself exercising though...I am going to give myself a schedule, making sure I do something each day, as it is soo easy to get stuck in doin my stitching and things, and completely forgetting the exercise...and in the evenings I tend to watch telly with hubby... I just need to get my finger out and do some work:)

Weightloss process week 3

So, I am REALLY PLEASED!!! I lost 5pounds this week, which means a total of 7 1/3 pounds in 3weeks:) Yey me!!! :) The other happy dance comes from our dear car passing the MOT!!! Yey to that!!! For more than one reason...firstly of course that it passed it and I can give hubby a ride to and from work this month as he is doing A LOT of long days, late nights and night shifts...secondly because I can now spend more money at the NEC craft fair in Birmingham on 25th March:) That is the most positive thing for me...lol...just kidding my dear husband..hehe... This weekend I am planning on trying my hand at some patchwork appliquet as I want to make a cushion cover for my mum and dad who are celebrating 50!!! years on the 11th March...AMAZING!!! / Ylva
