Furniture and stuff...

...are finally coming home:) It has been 7 months since we had our desks, table, chairs, collection of books and things all together in one place...and we are very very very eager for our belongings to come home...and it is now time...on Saturday it will all come home:) That means I can get on with sewing and things FINALLY...but it also means I cannot come with any excuses why I do not get things done any more...fingers out and on the table...lol Been in to Inverness this morning...what a lovely old town...so much to explore:) Also registered with an agency for temp work...fingers crossed I get a job soon...I am itching to shop for stash...lol... Feeling more optimistic than I have done in ages:)

Strange sleeping positions...

Nicola over at Stitchingbyacornishseaside is having a competition in pets sleeping positions, and I just had to pitch in with my babies... Ok...could not possibly pick just ONE pic...so here goes a little collage of snoozing...:)

Ready to attack

This is my little monster Pearl, hiding behind the door to the livingroom, waiting for Tara to walk towards the bedroom, in which case she will scream and slap...Tara is terrified of her as she is an expert at hiding behind sofas, doors, corners, dark doorways...anywhere she can really to scare Tara...We have to be quite on our guard as to what Tara wants and where Pearl is...guiding them away from each other. This has been the case since we got Tara (pretty much)...it is getting more difficult now with Tara getting worse eyesight...she has to get closer to Pearl to see her in certain circumstances. When Pearl is on the sofa in the corner against a purple throw she is pretty much invisible in the shadow. We have to tell Tara to stop before she gets too close... On another note, I have got the remaining boxes and suitcases in from the garage, and have got the cookbooks out of them for the kitchen, but the remaining will have to be tucked away until our furniture arrives (I must soun...

Another little finish:)

I am really pleased with my little finish:) Once I've got our furniture in place, I will finish my three little Lizzie Kate Snippets into something...not sure what yet...it'll come to me:) Now I am going to get back to watching French Kiss with hubby...I have seen it so many times and just LOVE LOVE LOVE it...I adore Meg Ryan:)

Second ornie FINISHED plus funny pet pix

Ok, I finished the second LK snippet just after 6pm tonight, so I thought I'd post a pic of it...really pleased with it:)  I have prepared the third and last of the snippets I am planning to do this year (who knows...I may have time for more...lol), but won't start until tomorrow when I have daylight. At the moment we have no proper lighting AT ALL in the house, so I am quite limited. I really need to invest in a proper light. Look at Tara resting her head on her backbent paw...she is so cute (when she is sleeping) and you can really see how old and grey she has become. Still has way too much energy though...wish she'd calm down a bit...lol Check Pearl out...the first pic is not very sharp, but you can see her tongue as she is cleaning her back paw...the bottom pic is of her gnawing her claws on the same paw. I just had to share...you can really hear her crunching away at her claws when she does this...quite funny:)

WIP update

So, I have not finished my little LK snippet yet, but I am quite close, so I thought it was time to show an update:) I am quite pleased with the colors. I do have a slightly darker pink for the cups, and I hope that will be ok...if not I 'll probably change it to a bright white. After the cups all I have to do is darker and lighter square blocks at the bottom, and then it is done. I do have one more snippet ready to go, and when that one is done I should have got all furniture so I can organize my things and get back to my Peacock Tapestry and Vicki's hardanger partwork calendar...and and and...lol...so much to do and not enough time...there is just never enough time though...is there... There are so many things I want to do...how am I ever gonna have time to go back to fulltime work...lol

Tara...

but I just have to get something off my chest. I was feeling really positive about moving to Inverness, and in most ways I still do, but there is one massive blip keeping me from being completely positive...that is our German Shepherd Tara. She is gorgeous, she can be a lot of fun, but when it comes to walking her she is NOT fun! So, I have managed so far to avoid altercations with other dogs, but today came very close. I was just fortunate enough that I was on the other side of the street and the dog was obedient. I was very close to home, just leaving for my afternoon walk, when all of a sudden I look into a driveway (walled in with a tall fenced double gate which of course was open) and this woman was doing something with her car, and a large black dog - most likely a Labrador or a mix - saw Tara and went sort of bouncing towards us...I ran with Tara behind the gate of the house almost opposite, waiting to see if the dog was coming or not. Luckily it did not, an...

Inverness from home

The pictures above are from my walks with Tara...the views are amazing:) The last two pictures are from our livingroom window:) I am guessing the large trees will hide some of the view, but not all of it:) It is very hilly as we are living up a mountain side, but that is going to be very good for my health...not fun at the moment as I am very unfit and my back is hurting from shifting so many boxes... Loving it so far, but haven't seen much as there is no money to go into town and enjoy even a cappuchino at the mo, and no space to put anything if I did buy anything...I've got time to explore so am not worried:)
