not according to plan...

So, the plan was to continue working on the mug coasters I started on yesterday, but I just don't feel like it...so I thought I'd start planning another little design...something NON Christmas, but I wanted to do a post first. I did intend to post a plan for November as well, but I just haven't got myself organised enough for that...it is not easy when hubby is home on leave, I cannot only plan things for myself what to do during the day...it is more about taking each day for what it brings weather wise and what we feel like doing on that day - normally stay home potting about or watching a movie...we watched Scream 4 - LOVE IT!!! I just love all Scream movies...they are both fun and scary, but they do not tend to be overly gory...more blood than guts...I just cannot handle the Saw type movies as they seem to be more into pathology and gore... So...I figured if I am gonna post I might as well post some cute pet pics...:) And perhaps some pics of gorgeous Orkney...  Li...

Very windy...

So, yesterday it started getting really windy, so bad that it almost gets me off balance when I'm out with Tara. Today we decided to go pick up some meat and then go in to Kirkwall and have lunch and do a quick shopping before gong back home. So, we got to the first barrier which was quiet, got to the second barrier and had to count in between the waves and drive across just after the wave has crashed over the barrier and before the next one hits. The third barrier was ok, but as we turned right towards Tankerness there is a beach right after the turn, and the waves were so strong they were throwing rocks and seaweed over the road...amazing...we've taken some pictures, but some are a bit fuzzy...I think you can see what they show anyway:) It may not look that bad, but believe me it is really strong winds. If it gets me off balance it is BAD!!! After we got home we went down to the beach - hubby to find some mussels and me to walk the dog - and down by the beach it is n...

Planning for a clearer mind

I have realised that I am very unfocused...well actually I have known that for a very long time. I bet most people who craft more than one craft have a bit of that issue...some lucky people can multitask and have a variety of things around you and can still focus on what they are doing...I am jealous!!! I have decided I will go through my cards and make sure I have enough cards for Christmas and birthdays up until we have moved, and then pack most of the rest away. I cannot for the life of me pack away my embroidery things...and I am hoping to practice my sewing skills so will NOT pack that away. Since I have my fabric and lace and ribbons in a suitcase it does not take that much space, but the cardmaking is a full suitcase (an old square one) and several shoe boxes and box files...plus bags and so on...it takes up a lot of space and as soon as I start doing something I spread out like wildfire... I will prepare for a few projects for sewing and embroidery, and then leave the rest ...

Happy Birthday to Me! :)

Ok, so...had to get up early to give hubby a ride to work, do a quick shopping and then home to walk Tara before I could relax. I'm trying to warm up the living room as it is REALLY windy and cold outside. I think I am gonna take a quick nap and then do the dishes and have lunch...then do some stitching or cardmaking until it is time to walk Tara again...then hubby will come home and we will go out for dinner tonight...and then it is Supernatural time again:)

Ideas

I just got this idea from a blog I was reading. The author of the blog had a list of goals for each month (not too far into the future though) and I thought that is a really good idea. So, I will be doing my own list of goals up until Christmas, and will tick things off as I go...but first I have to figure out how to do that kind of list here on the blog... But, first and foremost I have to do housecleaning tomorrow, and finish organising my things as everything went into disarray after I received all my lovely magazines:) I am NOT complaining!!! I need to do some hoovering, washing some dog towels and the rug that is on the floor here... Once I am done with the "clean up" will I allow myself to do some crafts...and I have sooooo many patterns and ideas...lol...and I received my order from Create and Craft...some Barbara Gray stamps and also her special cards for stamping...so now I want to try them out as well...lol

Christmas came early!

I just had a surprise visit from a crafty neighbour...she dropped by 7!!! bags!!! of craft magazines!!! She has had a clear out in her craft room, and thought of me...she said just to pass the ones I don't want to keep on to the other ladies in the craft group...:) Amazing:) I nattered with this lady for a long time when I went to the fossil museum on their last opened day, nattered about crafts and things. I did not expect her to drop by with such a wonderful gift:) I am a happy girl:)

Chardonnay is finished!

Yey...I finally finished Chardonnay:) I almost forgot where she was...tucked away in a bag...found her and all I had left was the metallic as I did a bit at the craft group last Monday. I am having serious issues with my left arm at the moment. The shoulder is aching like mad and I have just put some Volterol cream on to see if it takes the edge off. My left pinkie falls asleep when I have my elbow bent, so there is an impingement somewhere...hubby (who is a doctor after all) wants me to avoid doing crafts for a week or so to rest my arm as I hold the frame or hoop in my left hand and always have the elbow bent...not sure how I am supposed to NOT do crafts for a week, but considering the possibility that I will have even worse problems if I do not rest it, I am out of options... I'll have to figure out something else to do instead...will keep you posted (unless it is something really booring...). Here is Chardonnay:) I am quite pleased with the metallic thread even tho...
