So...the story begins in Preston end July 2011, and finally ends today...
When we moved from Preston to Orkney, we put most of our furniture and items into storage, including our bed. Then, when we moved from Orkney to Inverness, we brought with us the items from Orkney, but waited a month before getting things from storage.
When the items finally arrived, we were missing the slats for the bed as well as the stepladder and ONE leg out of four for our garden table. Quite strange really, when the moving men said the items went from the house in Preston straight into the van and then from the van into storage, and then from storage into the van and then from the van into the house here in Inverness. They found the stepladder in the storage unit...they've probably been using it...
So...we had to nag at them for a month before they (the movers) agreed that they would not find the slats and had to replace them. Then hubby had to nag at them for another few weeks before they finally made a payment and then another two weeks before they arrived. And...they were too short...TYPICAL!!!
So, we had an idea and called the furniture store, and found out that the insurance covered lost slats. So, they agreed to send replacements to us. We did explain to them very clearly that we lost the slats when MOVING!!! Still, for some reason they sent the slats to PRESTON!!! So, hubby called and was VERY unhappy with them, and they promised to send them to the correct address, and they have just arrived this morning:)
A bit longwinded story, but then so was living through it...lol
So, now I can finally put the bed together properly and then have the spare room just for me and my crafts...
