long time no see (or rather write)...

So...these last few months have been a bit tiring for me. Firstly as I started working full time as a medical secretary on 18th June. I am enjoying my job very much, but it has taken time to get used to being busy most of the day, after having spent so many months doing what I wanted (mostly). Now I am getting to the stage when I am not tired all the time. I do however need to get back on track when it comes to crafts.

I work 9-5, then go straight home, get changed, take Tara out, come back around 6pm, then it is often time to cook dinner or possibly doing other household tasks...after 7-7.30 when we have had dinner and cleared the table, we both just want to sit down and relax...and once we have sat down it is really difficult to find the umph to get back up and do crafts.

I just need to get myself more organised as there are so many things I want to do...Firstly I am going to find a gym that opens early in the morning, and start going to the gym before work. As I have enough to do in the evening and I KNOW I won't be keeping it up. As I have never had any problems getting up in the morning, and as hubby walks Tara in the morning, it makes sense to get the gym done in the morning. I know my days will be quite long, but for a time that is fine. I really need to get my weight down, and the only way to do that is by going to the gym and also by getting my diet sorted.

I have done a little bit of embroidery...a few hours on my Peacock Tapestry, and I have changed a zip on one pair of hubby's trousers...that is pretty much all of my creative time since I started working...

I really need to get myself organised...

Some pictures from the last few weeks:)
Above you can see Pearl miserable as she could not lie in her normal spot on the right side on the sofa...lol
Tara is VERY aware that Pearl is there staring at her...poor thing gets quite nervous when Pearl is around...
Our very own carrot harvest:)

Below is the pic from before I got back working on the Peacock Tapestry, and the one below that is the stitching up until yesterday. Will update again soon as I don't have too many color changes before this part is done (I hope...).

  1. Great pics, Ylva. Your stitching looks good, and Tara is darling too.

  2. Glad to see you are alive! Even if exhausted! The job and lifestyle changes will slow anyone down so don't beat yourself up about it. Once your body thinks it can cope with other things it will let you know. We've all had periods when we don't sew - but that makes your return - however small - even more exciting. Tara looks happy on Pearl's spot on the sofa!

Refreshing my blog (long time coming)...

Hi, I haven't posted here for a very long time. Towards the end of the last period of blogging I completely lost track of my craftiness and there was just too much going on in life. Now I am finally feeling like myself again, I have started a web shop on Etsy and have started selling my jewellery from a shop in town. I have not yet been brave enough to do a craft fair, but I have my eyes on one in October and then it is a matter of doing some Christmas fairs to get my name out there. Below you can see some of the things I have made, and I will be posting my finished items whatever they may be both on Instagram, Facebook and here, planning on going a bit more in depth here for whoever wants to know more:) So, here we go:) This was a commission, made up of peacock colour freshwater cultured pearl nuggets and silver-plated copper stardust beads and findings. It consists of a ring, ear studs, bracelet and necklace. The lady who ordered it absolutely loves it:) Below are so...

New Year, New Home, New Outlook!

Ok, so I have been very bad with writing on my blog...I am slightly ashamed... I do however have a reason for it...This last year went pear shaped, and I lost myself a bit. Firstly in March, my husband failed his final exam for the first time, causing a lot of stress and worry. Secondly, we lost our gorgeous baby girl Tara, our almost 12 year old GSD...she was in too much pain in her back and back legs, she was dragging her back feet as she had no strength to lift them to walk properly on her pads. This caused her to wear down her claws so much that she was bleeding on one occasion. After this occasion we made sure to walk her only on the side of the road so she could drag her feet on grass instead of asphalt. At the end of April 2014, we sent her across the Rainbow Bridge, to join her friend Darwin whom we lost in December 2012. After this awful event, things were quite tough at home, and as if that was not enough, my husband still had to study and practice for his final exam. He ha...

Slimming World update!

I AM SOOOOOOO HAPPY!!! I lost 6 1/2 pounds, which means I have reached my 1st stone milestone:) I am so surprised but happy...I have gained 1/2pound three weeks in a row because my period was 3weeks late. Now my period has come and gone, and it just shows how much my body is affected by the f***king period...  (and those stars are hiding REA and nothing else...lol) So, tonight it is Nando's dinner...chicken, coleslaw and ratatouille (or perhaps some lovely chips) to celebrate weightloss as well as payday...I do normally let myself enjoy a nice treat of some sorts after my weigh in...that way it is easier to stay on track the rest of the time...:) I am getting on with my Siamese cats, and am about halfway through with the white, and once that is done I am finished and can make them into a cushion cover:)
