so...

ok...I should have posted on Wednesday after my Slimming World meeting, but I felt a bit up and down this week...I did gain 1/2 pound, after loosing 2 1/2 pounds the first week. I am not surprised as I was waiting for my period which arrived yesterday and is now fullblown...sorry for the bluntness... On other topics I am closing in on finishing the modelstitching...should be done with my part next week. I have not done any other crafts for ages now...but will get going once I've done my duty with Matilda (the model I'm stitching). I was gonna start pilates this weekend, but due to my period I can't do much without overflow...I had a procedure 5weeks ago, and have not been able to do much exercise because of it. They did warn me that the bleeding would be much heavier and go on for longer the first time after the procedure...and now finally it has started, and it remains to be seen how long it'll last... Anyway, that is enough of that... I am looking forward to g...

Siamese Cats updatae 24/02

So, not a very big update, but that is because I can't show a picture of the hardanger design I'm modelstitching...but it is GORGEOUS!!! I have done a little bit of work on the Siamese cats, and I can show you a picture of how gorgeous the eyes will be when they are done:) I promise another update soon...

not much to report

So, I am sitting in the sofa, working on a hardanger modelstitch for India Grace Designs, watching Extreme Makeover Home Edition and now and then getting sidetracked by surfing crafty blogs...and I feel ashamed that I do not do more...I have so much stuff in my craft room that I could sit there for most of the year and produce something every day, and I would still have materials for the following year...and I do plan to do something and then I get sidetracked by something else...I have been working on the modelstitching, but instead of finishing it, I get sidetracked by the Siamese Cats...I just get going and cannot stop as I get so eager to have it finished. Could perhaps be because cross stitching is soo much easier than hardanger...you have to focus so you don't cut the wrong thread or go the wrong direction or something... I have managed to get my husband to agree to give me back my desk chair (a Swedish chair adjustable in most ways and VERY expensive) so that I can sit by m...

OT - 1 week result

So, went to Slimming World and checked if I managed to loose any weight...2 1/2 pounds:) Not bad when I did a few miscalculations...I did not know that hazelnuts and almonds were as bad as they are...0.5 syns each!!! And, Ainsley Harriott's Thai Green Chicken soup packets are 4points EACH...and I had two for lunch... But overall I am very pleased. I am not really after any bigger weightloss per week, although the more the better this early in the process... Apart from that I have not done much stitching this week...done a few stitches on my cats, but I need to get stuck in again...will get my modelstitching project organised and get started on the hardanger and backstitching...want to get it done as quickly as I can so I can send it to Vicki, the designer:) She may need to do some bits of it herself as I am still a novice in a lot of stitches...I will need to do some practice pieces before doing a proper piece... That's it for now:)

crafty Sunday:)

Ok, so decided to work in my craft room today, and went looking for a pincushion pattern/picture for inspiration and guidance...found a cute mouse pattern...got inspired to make a mouse catnip plaything for our two cats...here is the finished product after some serious playtime from both cats... Also, I decided to work on a pincushion, using my tiny ceramic pot I got specifically for it...and am using a 35 count raw Irish linen and a red variegated Perle 8 I bought on Ebay...if there is space when done I will be using an olivy green Perle 8 as well...below is the start of my project... And this is the finished picture... now to figure out how to attach it to the pot...to be continued...

OT - Joined Slimming World 09/02/2011

So...today I took the big step and joined Slimming World...It has been many years since I joined Weight Watchers, stayed with them for 5months before giving up due to medical issues...I did loose weight with them, but it has all come right back...the positive thing is that I am back where I started and not worse...I was really worried I would have gained even more weight...so I can just start over and really do it this time without quitting this time. And, I need to do exercise as well...I have everything I need at home, so I don't even have to buy anything...don't have to join a gym or anything...so wish me luck! I will keep you posted...counting down from a number only known to me...when I have reached my goal or at least got close, I will let you all know my starting weight...but not until then... X Ylva

Embroidery Guild Workshop 5th February 11

So, went to my first workshop today - felted jewellery. I had a BLAST!!! I may not be very good at it, but I think I did pretty good for a first time working with felt. Here is the outcome...  This next picture is of the felt I made to create flower broches. I did not get around to finish them off, but I will...gonna find some nice buttons to put on the top, and perhaps some lace or other suitable fabric inbetween the felt layers...we'll see...I will keep you posted:) So, all in all a very good day. My back is aching though, and anyone who says crafting is lazy is WRONG!!! bye for now
