Ylva's crafty corner

Ok, so I have been very bad with writing on my blog...I am slightly ashamed... I do however have a reason for it...This last year went pear shaped, and I lost myself a bit. Firstly in March, my husband failed his final exam for the first time, causing a lot of stress and worry. Secondly, we lost our gorgeous baby girl Tara, our almost 12 year old GSD...she was in too much pain in her back and back legs, she was dragging her back feet as she had no strength to lift them to walk properly on her pads. This caused her to wear down her claws so much that she was bleeding on one occasion. After this occasion we made sure to walk her only on the side of the road so she could drag her feet on grass instead of asphalt. At the end of April 2014, we sent her across the Rainbow Bridge, to join her friend Darwin whom we lost in December 2012. After this awful event, things were quite tough at home, and as if that was not enough, my husband still had to study and practice for his final exam. He ha...

So...a picture update...a present for a friend and former colleague; I changed the color scheme from pinks and purples, and am really really pleased with the result. I did not expect it to be as nice at it was:) I need to get a kit put together for a wedding gift I am making for my niece...I am not sure I have the fabric I need, so I may need to do some shopping...how tragic:) I am gonna put together another kit just for the fun of it...I bought a big bundle of sampler threads, and want to use them on something special...just gotta find the right pattern...:) So...that is it at the moment...promise to be better at update my blog...

Hmmm..I guess that is me, for not updating my blog for a very very long time. Since April, I have had mum and dad visit from 19th May to 13th June. Between 19th May and 23rd May my sister Sandra and her partner Patrick also visited, and we went on a whiskey tour, did a Jacobean Cruise on Loch Ness, and went on the furnicular railway up to the top of Cairngorms. Of course, on the way up it was stunning but at the top we were in a very thick fog...typical we could not get to see the gorgeous view, but standing in fog we could almost touch, was kinda cool. After they went home, me and my parents went on several day trips, while my poor husband had to work. He did manage to come with us to Ullapool which was beautiful. We visited Skye but only just across the bridge as we had our dog at home and could not leave her alone for too long. We had a brilliant time and I am sooo glad they could stay as long as they did:) I will post some pictures below so you can see some of our journey. ...

 Some pictures from Birmingham on 22nd March when we were travelling  down towards Devon. We made a stop as driving all the way would have been a bit too much as we stopped in Glasgow to pick up our new car.    Below you can see our "new" car...a silver Volvo S40...it is LOVELY:)  Ok, so below are some pictures from Westward Ho! I do not know any other place that has an exclamation mark in its name...do you?  Hubby posing (as usual) in front of Westward Ho!'s amusement park:)  What a dream...riding your horse on a beach like this...amazing!    We visited friends who have moved to the countryside with acres of fields and woods,  and now have horses, and got themselves another dog, and below are some pictures of them:)        Coming home to this view is not too bad though...:)
