Refreshing my blog (long time coming)...

Hi, I haven't posted here for a very long time. Towards the end of the last period of blogging I completely lost track of my craftiness and there was just too much going on in life. Now I am finally feeling like myself again, I have started a web shop on Etsy and have started selling my jewellery from a shop in town. I have not yet been brave enough to do a craft fair, but I have my eyes on one in October and then it is a matter of doing some Christmas fairs to get my name out there. Below you can see some of the things I have made, and I will be posting my finished items whatever they may be both on Instagram, Facebook and here, planning on going a bit more in depth here for whoever wants to know more:) So, here we go:) This was a commission, made up of peacock colour freshwater cultured pearl nuggets and silver-plated copper stardust beads and findings. It consists of a ring, ear studs, bracelet and necklace. The lady who ordered it absolutely loves it:) Below are so...

Some new makes and yet another relocation...

So...I made a promise to update my blog regularly, to get things done and focus myself... It has been a few months since the last post (not too bad considering the space between that one and the one before...), and as usual things have progressed in a way I was not expecting... Firstly, we lost Pearl, our 14 year old cat on the 4th June, 2 days after her birthday. She had not been herself from just before we moved from Inverness to Elgin at the end of February. I noticed her drinking a lot more and not eating much, not having much energy and stopping often to breathe before continuing walking, so I booked her in with the vet. The news were bad but inconclusive. The lungs did not sound right and the heart was working very hard. In a cat that age, it points to heart problems or the possibility of cancer. It was decided to bring her back for a scan and blood test, and the scan showed that her lungs were filled with fluid. This fluid was emptied, bloods taken and when I picked her up a...

New Year, New Home, New Outlook!

Ok, so I have been very bad with writing on my blog...I am slightly ashamed... I do however have a reason for it...This last year went pear shaped, and I lost myself a bit. Firstly in March, my husband failed his final exam for the first time, causing a lot of stress and worry. Secondly, we lost our gorgeous baby girl Tara, our almost 12 year old GSD...she was in too much pain in her back and back legs, she was dragging her back feet as she had no strength to lift them to walk properly on her pads. This caused her to wear down her claws so much that she was bleeding on one occasion. After this occasion we made sure to walk her only on the side of the road so she could drag her feet on grass instead of asphalt. At the end of April 2014, we sent her across the Rainbow Bridge, to join her friend Darwin whom we lost in December 2012. After this awful event, things were quite tough at home, and as if that was not enough, my husband still had to study and practice for his final exam. He ha...

so...been a bit lazy blogwize...gonna have to get a grip!!!

So...a picture update...a present for a friend and former colleague; I changed the color scheme from pinks and purples, and am really really pleased with the result. I did not expect it to be as nice at it was:) I need to get a kit put together for a wedding gift I am making for my niece...I am not sure I have the fabric I need, so I may need to do some shopping...how tragic:) I am gonna put together another kit just for the fun of it...I bought a big bundle of sampler threads, and want to use them on something special...just gotta find the right pattern...:) So...that is it at the moment...promise to be better at update my blog...

Well...who's been a bad girl then...

Hmmm..I guess that is me, for not updating my blog for a very very long time. Since April, I have had mum and dad visit from 19th May to 13th June. Between 19th May and 23rd May my sister Sandra and her partner Patrick also visited, and we went on a whiskey tour, did a Jacobean Cruise on Loch Ness, and went on the furnicular railway up to the top of Cairngorms. Of course, on the way up it was stunning but at the top we were in a very thick fog...typical we could not get to see the gorgeous view, but standing in fog we could almost touch, was kinda cool. After they went home, me and my parents went on several day trips, while my poor husband had to work. He did manage to come with us to Ullapool which was beautiful. We visited Skye but only just across the bridge as we had our dog at home and could not leave her alone for too long. We had a brilliant time and I am sooo glad they could stay as long as they did:) I will post some pictures below so you can see some of our journey. ...
